First children's united Methodist Center "SPRING"

This ministry was founded in 2002. The Center's activity is completely based on Christian principles. Most of Center's

staff are Christians and members of UMC Grace. Currently this ministry includes more than 10 different programs:

Bible lessons, children's art, additional education, sport, free hot meals, visiting families at homes, psychological

supporting programs, music, support in getting medical and social help, programs on life skills development and

gospel camps. This ministry is first of all directed on social help and Christian principles spreading amongst children

and their families in need. The suppressing majority of children and members of their families through participation in

Center's programs come to Church and take Christ.

WOMEN'S MINISTRY
The United Methodist Women
The woman's ministry acts in our church since 2001 both at the level of the church and the district.
Contribution of women in Center's activity and in Church's life is very essential.
The women of this ministry help in family and children's ministry, praying ministry, Bible studying,
work as the volunteers in camps and the Family Methodist Center Spring, make master-classes for women
and children, communication, fests and holidays, help at the church and families in need, they make
seminars and invite women from other churches, make the actions: Feed the hungry and dress the poor, and etc.
For example last autumn 2006 thanks to the action: Autumn's gifts the church got
more than 15 kilos of canned and fresh vegetables.
As the part of the United Methodist Women's ministry church GRACE is doing regularly seminars
on "12 steps program" where women, men, youth and children take part, "Moms in touch"
- ministry which unites moms in praying for their children and schools, "Mother's wisdom"
- program on teaching mothers and girls.
 

Bible studying

On Fridays adult Bible studying group has lessons.

At the moment the Methodist Christ's Disciple program is learnt.

Children's MINISTRY & youth ministry

The children's and youth ministries are very active since 1999 in our church. Currently it includes nearly

50 children and young people. Children's ministry has 3 groups:

the youngest (aged 3-6), middle (7-11 years old) and the oldest (11-14).

At the lessons children study the Bible, make different things with their own hands,

make theatre plays and take part in competitions. The program that is learnt on

Children's ministry was developed by Russian UMC. Young people

(older than 14) have their own worships where they together with the youth musical

group praise God in songs, study the Bible, talk and go in for sport (the youth football team).

CHRISTIAN MUSIC

The children's chorus, musical church group, the kid's musical band (guitars, spoons and fleets).

Our choir usually makes small concerts at the church and is also invited to sing before the district administration,

elderly people, children and take part in the district Methodist arrangements. 

At the music lessons children study the notes and visit concerts of classical music to know more about it.

Sport IN CHURCH

Church GRACE has got a youth and children's football teams.

Boys and girls play football and take part in local championships.

PROGRAMS ON LIFE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

Children have lessons on cooking and sewing, they also learn how to do the tiding and washing up.

CHRISTIANS CAMPS

Every year since 1999 our church make gospel camps for children and youth in summer and when there are school holidays.

We invite children from problem families and the usual number is about 40 children. Many of them are unbelievers.

The camp program helps children to learn about God through the Bible studies, worships and communication and

of course there are a lot of sport, hand craft, music and trips. To know more about the camp ministry you

Family (Parent's) Ministry

One of the main aims of children's and youth Church ministries is in attracting children's family members to the church.

For children's parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters and other relatives are usually made some especial occasions like:

 

-Church events (Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving Day and many others). Children prepare a new Christian program

for every such event and parents get interested in seeing their children acting in theatre plays and singing,

coming to such events they participate in church worships.

-especial family events (Mother's Day, Father's Day)

-parents' meetings at the United Methodist children's center

-concerts for elderly people

-parents' celebrations when children and their family members can celebrate some family dates like

birthday in a church

-family picnics in Summer when all parents are invited to join their children in coming to nature

-family excursions to St. Petersburg museums, palaces and parks.
